Today Mamaw is taking Miss Betty back to the doctor. Boy is HE going to be surprised—last month she had to go in a wheelchair and today Mamaw says she is going with just the use of her cane! We’re so proud of her accomplishments! And so with that said, I know there is going to be “down time” in the kennel. She’ll take Betty to lunch too—and I can’t go into the restaurant. I don’t know why they don’t change their rules—after all, I know how to behave…but Mamaw says it has something to do with the state law. Go figure…
Poppy—are ya goin to work again today? When are we gonna get to go to the Pappajohn Sculpture Park? Winter is comin way too fast and I wanta go there. Can’t you get a day to go with us?
Mamaw finished Emily’s Portfolio—she is so proud! She can’t wait until it is time for Emily’s “eat out birthday time” to give it to her. We hope she’s gonna love it!
More computer work—I can just see Mamaw’s finger getting shorter and shorter and skinnier and skinnier—yep, she’s workin her fingers to the bone. And she’s been pretty quiet again—obviously has SOMETHING on her mind…it’s just best to leave her alone for now.
They fixed Cod for dinner and now the house smells. Mamaw JUST HATES THAT! But I kinda like the smells myself. She gets busy and lights a candle in a hurry cause Mr. John (the handsome dude) is comin in the morning to clean up my “sick spots.” I hope he’s not gonna be mad at me for that cause I really like him a lot!
On my way to bed tonight I’m gonna say a BIG PRAYER that everything goes off without a ‘hitch’ tomorrow. Can ya all put that on your prayer chain?

- Since 1982 I have wanted to write a book. But it was never possible for me to dedicate myself to writing so I pushed it aside. Permanent retirement caught up with me in March 2010. I began writing that novel and it is finished; now in its 4th editing. And during that time, I've become selfish about having it published. You see, it is a true story--MATCH.COM--and much too intimate to share with the masses. It is being held back for family and friends to enjoy at the proper time. And as previously mentioned, Miss Scarlett came into our lives at just the right time to completely enjoy her. She had a voice in this house from the very beginning and wanted to share feelings from her point of view from the beginning--I gave her that audience. Then she decided to take a break for nearly a year--she is back folks!
