When Mamaw came to get me up this morning, she already looked like “a walking target.” What the heck is goin on today? We were outside so fast, I almost couldn’t get my job done. She and Poppy are getting their heads together and they’re whisperin so I can’t hear! Well, I know Poppy has to work cause it is Saturday and he always works on Saturday. Mamaw on the other hand has something up her sleeve…

She started the car (even had to put a little heat on today) and came to get me. I DO GET TO GO… well, I thought so last night when they talked. I’d really enjoy it much more if it wasn’t pouring down rain. It makes the car noises so much louder and I don’t like that. I just laid down on the seat and Mamaw gently rubbed me so I had a wonderful time. We drove quite a while to some town called Altoona where she was meetin up with a lady to fix her Grandmothers bracelet her Dodi got for her. I had to sit in the car while she was gone but that was okay. It was cool and rainy and I just laid down and took a nap. When she got back in the car, she continued to gently massage my earlobes. We were only gone for an hour.

She worked on the computer for a while and then took me outside to go potty again. I’m beginning to figure out what this is all about! She brought me in and took me directly to my kennel. Without a word, she picked up her purse and went out the door. And now I kinda remember that Emily was havin a birthday luncheon and Mamaw was gonna get to see the two girls and the grandkids. Well, except for the family that lives in Michigan. Hope we get to go visit them before winter too.

Well, what an afternoon they all had too! Mamaw took some pictures from 2001 and she said they all “walked down memory lane.” She likes doing that a lot lately. Can’t you just imagine em all laughin and carryin on? Mamaw has a real fun family… And she was gone a long time too. She wasn’t home very long before Poppy walked in the door. And then she thought she needed to run to the grocery store so off she went again—at least I didn’t have to go back in the kennel.

Later in the evening it was waterbed time. I tell ya, I just have to beg and beg lately to get her to move back there! She makes a big deal out of pulling the bedding back so I make a big deal about rolling and tumbling and carryin on cause Mamaw just gives out those hearty laughs and I just love to hear that! But then she makes me settle down. And it was cold so she covered me up with a soft, blue blanket and I tell ya, I slept like a baby…I said I slept like a baby. Don’t even remember her picking me up and taking me to my kennel for the rest of the night.
