Mamaw is still workin at getting things together. She’s still got 4 lbs to lose but she wants to get her “big stuff” out of the closets and out of the house! This morning she had her cup of tea and asked Poppy if she could model her dress pants for him. She doesn’t want to keep them if it looks like she’s got “poop” in the bottom she told him. So, one by one, he’s telling her what he thinks of stuff. About an hour later, the green box is full and has the lid on it. The rest are back in her closet. She says she’s done doin that now until she gets one of those boxes out to put away her shorts and summer tops. She took the green box to her car.
Okay—she’ll read the paper now if ya don’t mind. Took her time—enjoyed—just bein a little lazy. I finally let her know I needed to go outside to do my thing—got there just in the knick of time. Poppy is getting ready for work—they talked about drivin down to the Park after he got off work but we’ll wait and see.
Before I knew what was goin on, she had my short leash on me and I’m in the car. She starts the car and tells me we’re goin to the Dog Park. Well, hey, that’s okay by me! We got there and there were all kinds of little dogs there. Now, I gotta admit I was pretty standoffish for a while cause that BIG DOG attacked me but eventually they were so darned cute I just had to interact. Besides, Mamaw was makin over em so much I was afraid she’d fall in love with one of them and just put me out to pasture! We played for over an hour and I could tell Mamaw needed human stimulation—she talked their ears off! She was sure to tell them to watch out for that big sheepdog though…
And home we came—she leads me right to the kennel and off she goes. Oh, I bet she’s takin those clothes to donate and get them out of her way. And she stopped at Lowe’s she told me later and looked for gold paint for our house numbers. She brought home 5-6 little squares—all different yellows and gold’s and kinda browns (I’d have loved to get my teeth on them.) I didn’t get a chance—she left me right where I was and told me she was going for her long walk and she’s gone! I know she was gone over an hour and when she walked in, I could tell she’d had a LONG WALK! Tryin so darned hard to lose those extra 4 lbs.—I think it’s kinda silly but okay—Poppy and I don’t hassle her about it.
She looked in on the golf tournament too. She doesn’t enjoy watchin it as much now that Tiger Woods isn’t doin so good. And then she fell asleep—on my half of the couch! I had to go to my kennel cause she was snoring and takin up the WHOLE THING. Please come home Poppy and help me…Aw—he is home. He walked in the door and Mamaw didn’t even wake up…he tickled her toes and she opened her eyes but just kinda wasn’t very awake yet. Guess we won’t go to the sculpture park after all. She’s tired…and she made beef and noodles and they are ready to eat. Now all she has to do is fix the potatoes and heat up the Grimes corn she had taken off the cob. I didn’t get a bite—I tell ya, I didn’t get a CRUMB!
She wanted me to go on a walk and I did go about as far as Ozzie goes and then I just refused to move any further. No table food—no walks. Like it or lump it. Let’s see who wins this race. So we’ll spend our evening just lying back and relaxing—sounds like way too much work took place today. Night Rhett Butler…You can come save Miss Scarlett O’Hara if ya got a mind to…
