Poppy is home with us today—Mamaw and I are so happy. She told me she’s not gonna do anything but wait and see what he wants to do. He’s one of those guys that doesn’t know what he’s gonna do till 5 minutes before he does it. (smile) Mamaw has figured him out so she just waits on him.

She got so many pages done yesterday for Emily’s notebook that she’s sittin here today putting them in order. She lets Poppy and I look at it when she’s finished and I tell ya—we are both impressed. We are sure Emily is gonna be too!

And then all of the sudden Poppy is shavin (that usually means he’s getting ready to do something.) Mamaw and I go outside and get my two ‘poop’ done for the day. And when we came back, Poppy was standin in the middle of the living room and Mamaw could tell he had something on his mind. She asked him, “Do I need to get a shower and get cleaned up”? She’s smart…He said, “I wouldn’t mind going to Office Max and looking at poster board for the project we’re gonna do together.” Wow—she popped up out of the chair right now and headed to the shower. I knew immediately they were gonna leave me cause she put those danged dangly earrings on that make her “a walking target.” When she is all cleaned up and ready to go, in the kennel I go. It’s a good thing I don’t mind the kennel—but I DO MIND going there when they force me.

Mamaw got a phone call from Miss Betty. She’s goin over there tomorrow to curl her hair and help her pack for a weekend trip back to Denison. Hope I get to go—Mamaw says she invited me.

Later in the day Poppy was watchin a movie and it was so loud Mamaw retreated to the bedroom to watch TV. She made me stay and spend time with Poppy. She wasn’t in there very long before Poppy went in there too. He said he had a deal for her…his check was ready so he thought they could go pick it up and he would take her for a glass of wine. Now I know Mamaw has a bad hip but you sure wouldn’t know it the way she jumped up off the bed and said, “I would love to.” They whispered to each other in the kitchen and before I knew it they asked if I wanted to go for a ride! Oh—yipee!!!!

We have a terrific ride and when we get home, I had to go back in the kennel so Poppy can keep his promise to buy Mamaw a glass of Reisling. She loves the stuff! And this time I don’t mind—I got a lovely ride.

That about says it all…goodnight ya all…
