The day—or should I say night finally arrived. I am too big for my secondary kennel and was awake at 10:00, 2:00 and 4:00. Mamaw took me out the first and second time. Poppy was snoring in his recliner! We were very quiet—but too late to make decisions about my bed. This morning when Mamaw got up, she took my pad out of the kennel in the bedroom and brought it to the living room for now. It is too small but at least I can turn around. It was so hard—I kept hitting the side and top of the kennel. I suppose we’ll live like this until my new pad arrives of UPS. I’m not sure Mother knows best here because we are late getting anything done about it. I hear a lot of wait, wait, wait.
We’ve been on our first walk before Mamaw finishes up her hair and stuff. I did a really pretty decent job on the walk this morning so I heard a lot of “good girl.” We said good morning to a man in the neighborhood going to his car for a purse—must be his wife or girlfriend. We also saw a little dog and I whined and wanted to play but we had to keep walking.
Dodi called this morning and wants to know what time they can come down. So Dodi, Ashton, Deb and Hayleigh are coming with Girl Scout goodies. I’m not sure if Emily is coming or not. Mamaw got around and cleaned out the dishwasher and I think she is heating up the yummy turkey casserole she fixed last night. She has a load of dark clothes in the washing machine right now. And you know, I HATE IT when she goes to the basement and says, “wait.” Maybe she will get around and make some Rice Krispie bars cause she know Deb and Hayleigh really like them.
Mamaw rushed me around to go for another walk before company arrives. We went the abbreviated way this time and I ran into Cesar again. I was so excited to see that little black and white spotted dog with the tail turned up over his back that I couldn’t just relax and enjoy him. We did do our share of smelling though and then Mamaw said we needed to finish our walk cause company is comin.
They all showed up around noon and I got so excited when I heard people at the door, I BARKED! Mamaw doesn’t encourage me to do that cause she really doesn’t want me to become a “barker.” I got to smell each one of them and they were surprised at how much I’ve grown! They all took their shoes off at the kitchen door so you know what that means—smell, smell, and smell. Oh, and remember—I never met a shoelace I didn’t like. I started in on them so off to my kennel I went! I had to stay there until they finished eating. I just don’t get to see enough people coming to our house and I get excited—what can I say? The afternoon was spent in and out of the kennel, on the deck and playing. They were taking pictures with their cell phones of Hayleigh and Ashton on those huge rocks behind our house. We had a blast!!!
Enough—time for them to go home. Mamaw said goodbye while I stayed in my kennel. After they left, we went for our third walk. The weather was still very nice.
Mamaw put me to bed in the living room, in my bigger kennel and covered my den with a towel. I slept very, very good. Thank you Mamaw…
