What a dreadful day it is today! First thing out this morning I couldn’t keep my paws on the ground. Slip and slide, slide and slip. Mamaw was pretty fussy about how far she wanted to get from the house too. I think she is really remembering falling on her butt on the ice. We’re not going out any more than we have to today I can tell you that.

Mamaw is fussing around cleaning the house like crazy and maybe family won’t even be able to get here. She says that’s okay though, it will be done for a while this way. I guess company coming motivates her or something. She’s been so busy training me she hasn’t had the energy to do all that other stuff.

Poppy is going to try to make it to the store. I hope he gets along okay…He wants eggs and sausage for breakfast.  And he got home just fine. So she keeps cleaning and Poppy makes breakfast at noon—go figure that one out!

As the day has passed, the weather has just gotten worse. Mamaw wonders if all of the cleaning is going to end up being for nothing. She has called her son, Dan twice to see where they are on their travel from Michigan.

Late this afternoon, Mamaw took me out to go potty and I did both! What a good girl you are, Scarlett she says--  Then she gets the brush and makes me look beautiful. Right after she brushes me I am so shiny and she really likes that. Then it’s time to brush my teeth. Before we even get started she got some of the paste on my nose and I sure like the taste of that! Then on to serious matters—and then she sees blood on the toothbrush. “Oh my God Poppy, you don’t think I hurt her do you—look at this blood”! We finished up but I was resisting cause my first baby tooth came loose and I was chewing on it. Mamaw finally got my mouth open and saw what it was so she said the DOGGY TOOTH FAIRY would come tonight if we left it on the top of the kennel. I wonder what I will get from the fairy? Dog bones or maybe a new chew bone—better yet my Kong filled with goodies. I can’t wait until morning!
