Cold, cold, cold—I mean it! When out this morning I had to keep lifting each foot one at a time cause my paws were getting too cold. I hated to go in though, cause I love tasting the snow. I like to find a spot and just keep sticking my nose in and out of it. There are little nose holes all over our yard—well along with the snow and the drifts. I’m gonna just keep begging to go out from time to time so I can play. Mamaw chuckles at me when I am playing out so I think she’ll let me.

She scooped the snow off the deck and the sidewalk where it blew in. She wants the sun to melt it so she doesn’t have to use snow melt. She has the regular stuff but she says that’s not good to put out cause it could hurt me.
Poppy worked very hard today on tax stuff so Mamaw and I were pretty quiet most of the day. She did run the sweeper—I’m used to it now. You know, I think of the things that used to just scare the hell out of me and wonder why it did that. The garage door for instance—well, even going down the 2 steps to get into the garage for that matter. And the sweeper—my heart used to just beat so hard I thought it was going to burst through my chest! Mamaw has been such a good teacher to patiently direct me and continue telling me it was alright—not to be afraid. Sometimes when I think I need to be the “watch dog” she tells me to relax—SHE’S IN CHARGE (whatever that means).

She keeps telling Poppy she doesn’t know how she will break me of tissue, paper, and clothing. The leaves are all covered up for now so she doesn’t have to worry about that.

She went to lie down in bed for a while. She was awake so early yesterday that she was all tired out. Well, I do some of that to her. She’s working really hard on the STAY and LEAVE IT cause we’re having Christmas here and she wants me to behave…
