Mamaw is so quiet again today—I can see and feel her pain. She keeps picking me up to love me and honestly it is getting pretty old, but I let her. It seems to help her some so why not? She has allowed me outside to play in the snow and today I took full advantage of it! I jumped and romped in the snow banks until I was nearly exhausted! I did manage to get a couple of big laughs out of her over that. And I love the taste of snow. I’ve eaten a lot and Mamaw wonders if that will make me have diahhrea.
She has decided that she will give me a chance to leave the newspaper alone while she is trying to read it. If I don’t, I have to go in my kennel until she is finished. God, that seemed to take her FOREVER to read it today. She stood firm though so I suppose I’m going to have to deal with that. Even though she is grieving, she insists on being strict!
Poppy is at work—I’m bored! I went through the deep snow this morning trying to get to Ozzie but he didn’t come out of the house. We can’t go for a walk cause it has warmed up too much and it is really SLICK. Mamaw doesn’t want to take a chance on falling again – they are going to her sister, Rita’s visitation this evening and the funeral is tomorrow.
The snow has melted some so Mamaw went out and scooped a bunch in front of the garage. She saw me eating the snow so when she was finished she brought me a whole big cup of snow. Isn’t she sweet? I had a little trouble with it though, it started to melt and every time I went to get some, it moved around in the dish. She had to hold it for me but I LOVED IT!
Mamaw is getting ready so when Poppy comes they can go. I love it when she puts perfume on. I like to snuggle under her neck and just SMELL HER… Then she puts on dangly earrings and a necklace—I’m really into those. Her rings, her watch—well, she is a walking target for me. She’s pretty sneaky though—she doesn’t get all duded up until an hour before she has to leave cause she knows I’m out to get the goodies.
They are HOME! Poppy wanted to go outside with me this time. And I see that Mamaw has her clothes ready for tomorrow. She’s gonna look great! I showed Poppy how much I like to run and jump in the snow. When we came inside Mamaw said, “I hope you didn’t freeze your what’s a daisy.” She is so funny…
