Poppy has committed himself to working again today—at least a portion of the day. I guess the electricity was a problem yesterday at Merle Hay Mall so Mandi had to reschedule people for today. He may get off by 3:00 so he asked Mamaw to wait to grocery shop until he was home to go with her. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I think they want to buy a turkey and try cooking it in their NewWave cooker.

Poppy got on the Internet this morning and ordered me a new sleep mat for my larger kennel. I hate that round one in there but the store didn’t have the rectangular ones available. That leaves going to the Internet to find one. I don’t like the round one—it isn’t big enough for me. My body has gotten pretty long. Now we wait until UPS delivers it!

Poppy had hoped he would only have to work half a day today but he called home and said he wasn’t going to be that lucky. So, even with gout, my poor Mamaw had to get around and go to the grocery store. She took it in good stride though. She was gone for a while and returned home, put the groceries away and promptly took me outside. In our yard, she saw four skinny, green poles located along both sides of our driveway—she was furious! She thinks the Association put them there because sometimes she gets off in the grass—but nobody said a thing about the stakes. She’ll sure let Poppy know what she thinks when he gets home. But she was tired and said her feet were swollen so I laid on the couch and was really, really good for her. She didn’t take a nap but she rested. I would have known if she fell asleep because sometimes SHE SNORES!
