Mamaw can’t hardly believe that the month is almost over! Well, she’s taken on extra work so her days go faster now. Ya might think takin the neighbor’s dog out is a 5 minute job—but not the way Mamaw does it. She tells us she would want somebody to care as much about ME if they were caring for me.
It is Saturday—Poppy says his work schedule is horrendous! Mamaw is excited to go see her sister at the tea room and Shops On Grand in Ames, IA. I thinkin it could be a long day…

By 10:00 they were both out the door—ya know where I am. It’s okay (that’s what I keep tellin myself anyway.) I’ve managed to get my business taken care of and that’s a good thing for me! I hear the car back out of the driveway and the garage door close. Okay girl—settle in for the day. She leaves the television on like I can WATCH it from my kennel—silly girl. And I can’t see out to make sure I’m protectin stuff here but she always locks the doors!

They must have had a wonderful time—she said she took pictures of the lovely tea room. She had a private conversation with the gal how started the shop 26 years ago—Mamaw says she’s real nice. Anyway, the CITY OFFICIALS to this lady they care closing off both entrances to her tea room and Shops on Grand for three months (July, August, September) to do road repair and updates. The lady is devastated!

The meal was fixed to perfection and she said they enjoyed walkin around lookin at stuff—bought a couple of things too. Never fails—give her a gift shop and she’ll come home with somethin.

Mamaw hadn’t been home long when Poppy walked in the door. And HE wanted to know if she felt well enough to go see Vicki and Alan’s new house in Ankeny—she jumped right up and shoved me back in the kennel. I didn’t go willingly, I can tell ya that much!!! Mamaw called Judy and asked for them to wait till they could get to their place and follow em—Miss Judy says it’s kinda tricky to find the first and second time. (smile)

I’ll tell ya—when they got home I could smell that Blonde Bombshell wine on Mamaw’s breath and beer on Poppys. I can’t be sure if it was Budweiser or PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) but I got out! Hope that’s my last event in the kennel today. Mamaw said I could come back to the waterbed with her and Poppy said, “Maybe I’ll just go too.” So we layed back there (me touchin both of em cause I insisted on bein in the middle) and the channels started changin one after another. That’s Poppy’s MO when he’s in charge—so we just ignored that and you get little half sentences and interrupted sentences and can’t watch a whole program to save you soul. We let him to what he wants—we just love him so much.

Later Mamaw carefully and lovingly picked me up and took me to bed. I got some awful special kisses and I love yous from her…night Mamaw—glad you had a good time.
