Yep, Mamaw got up and my kennel door was open; Poppy was in his recliner—I was stuck like glue…oh, oh! Is she gonna be mad at us for letting me do this? We’ll play like we FORGOT and just hope it flies over. Twas truly a GOOD NIGHT…
I didn’t wake up singin Oh What A beautiful Morning though when I got outside to do my thing. It is bitter cold; you just can’t afford to stand out there and smell the yellow snow for long cause the pads of my feet get so cold I begin to hold up first one, and then another and Mamaw says Miss Jessica (my personal vet) says that is dangerous. Pet owners—do ya love your pets? Okay—then limit their time outside in this weather and when they begin to lift that paw get them into the house right away. Miss Jessica says that staying out too long can freeze snow and snow melt up in those pads and IT’S A REALLY BAD THING!
Poppy was home all day again. I guess he’s just not getting rid of that cold or flu or whatever is ailin him. Mamaw has it too but she has to keep goin even when she doesn’t feel like it. Cause there is me and now Ozzie most days two times so we go…we do…she rests if she has time.
I sorta wish she wasn’t makin herself work on tryin to get published cause it wouldn’t hurt her to take a little nap each day but she told me she doesn’t want to get in the habit of that.
When she said, “Scarlett, let’s go get Ozzie and get him out to go potty,” I was at the door in an instant! I get to go off leash and go to his house with her. She unlocks the door and I rush right in but he is always upstairs so Mamaw has to call to him to come 3 or 4 times—then clump, clump, clump—here he comes. Then I want a love fest and he’s tryin to get out the door to do his business. It’s a little awkward there for a bit. I make sure I make it out of his door before he does cause he makes sure he gets out of my door before me—it works—no arguing. And then she brings him to our house…he saw Poppy sittin in his recliner and went right to him. (Mamaw thought it might be kinda a Cully thing—you know Cully died 6 weeks ago). He hung out with Poppy for a while until Mamaw said it was time for our snaps. He gets 4—I get 2—never more; never less. AND SHE COUNTS EM OUT TOO!
After that, Mamaw told Poppy he should just go lie down on the bed or Ozzie wouldn’t let him rest so off he went. AND OFF WENT OZZIE TO JOIN HIM TOO! Good God—what’s goin on here anyway? Moral of the story: Ozzie laid down on the floor next to Poppy and SHE PUT UP THE GATE SO I COULDN’T GO BACK TOO! She wasn’t bein mean—really. I wanted Ozzie to play and Poppy wanted to rest and so she did it for Poppy—hope Ozzie enjoyed his hour and a half nap beside MY Poppy!!! Ozzie woke up and was ready to go home so we took him. He always looks a little sad when we leave him behind but it isn’t OUR HOUSE—we can’t stay there. See ya later this evening Ozzie and off we went.
Click, click, click the office computer was busy most of the day. Poppy would get his mail and do his thing and then Mamaw had her turns too. She’s a busy gal… and then it was Ozzie time again. It wasn’t quite as windy the second time we took him out so we stayed a little longer. We both love to push our noses into the snow and Mamaw laughs cause we end up with “white mustaches.” It’s good to see her laugh. Returning the ole boy to his house, we turned on the outside light and one inside so Ozzie wouldn’t have to be in the dark. Bye for now…
