Good Lord—how long we gonna be sick around here anyhow? Poppy trudged off to work and we felt really sorry for him cause Mamaw and I took a nap. She didn’t feel up to all that work of givin me a bath and then cleanin up the mess so we just didn’t do it today.

She did got to the store though and buy the canned meat for the church food pantry and then she got some Tuna Helper’s too. She says that can feed quite a large family.

When she got home she was exhausted cause she also went to the Brass Armadillo. She was lookin for that old camera for Reggie but somebody bought it! She felt really bad she hadn’t just taken it at the time but that’s the way the cookie crumbles…and it crumbled I can tell ya.

We didn’t cook again tonight. Poppy ended up fixin leftover cornbread and hot Maple syrup over the top—Mamaw heated something or other up for herself. She went to bed early and invited me along…love it, love it, love it! I stayed a long time too.

In the night she was really sick and I think she bothered Poppy but he felt sorry for her. She was awake yet at 3:00 a.m.

  1. Hi, Scarlett! I just wrote a lot, but now I can't find it. I think I know what to do now--boy, this technology stuff isn't easy for an old dog to learn!
I'm sorry to hear your Mawmaw fell. Thank goodness she didn't break a bone! I hope your Mawmaw and Poppy are feeling better--sounds like they have been miserably sick! Good grief! It's not a good time of year. I think my Mom told your Mawmaw she had to get a shot from the human vet because she had such a bad headache. Then Thursday night Papa heard Mom say she had a swollen gland and earache, so he made her go to the human vet again on Friday and sure enough, she has an ear infection. Those pills haven't worked yet, and she's in pain. Now this morning I heard her tell Papa she has a cold sore, whatever that is. Papa told her he feels sorry for her.
Say, have you seen that huge bird out back? Mom thinks it's a really big hawk, but Papa wonders if it's not some kind of beagle. Or did he say eagle? At any rate, keep your eye on the sky when you're outside, Scarlett! I think that thing could carry either one of us off!
Hope to see you outside one of these days! That nasty dog down the street nearly bit me the other day. His human wasn't controlling him very well. I'm sure glad you and Ozzie don't bite!
    Love ya, Pepper
