No church today—Mamaw is still sick! Well, Poppy too but he goes to work anyhow. I’m just on pins and needles all day till he gets back home with us. He told Mamaw he was going to Mass at 4:30 and she could join him there but she said she was gonna pass…he’ll take our food pantry sack with him—Mamaw will rest. She’s got a great big newspaper to read and sometimes she likes to just hibernate all by herself…ya know—TO THINK ABOUT THINGS. She’s got so many irons in the fire she doesn’t know what to do. I’m thinking though that she’s gonna figure it out one project at a time…WAY TO GO MAMAW!
She is supposed to drive to Ankeny to meet up with her JIGS group and she isn’t even goin to do that! And she loves that…getting together with her old classmates (and I do mean OLD).
Lindsey is goin to see our own Dr. Blume today, THAT'S MY POPPY, and he called to ask John to come in too! Yesterday it was so hectic Poppy thought he had to rush John a little and he wants to see if he can wear contact lenses so he’s goin back today…they’re gonna work on that!
Mamaw did manage to get the bed made—I did manage to chew the nose off my squirrel that came with my “plate of food” from Pepper for Christmas. She snatched it right up and I just know she’s gonna throw it away so I gotta keep on my toes today—I mean ALL DAY.
Ozzie was outside with Miss Becky and I had a terrible time tryin to get to him! That snow was piled high and I wasn’t sure I could make it through all of that but he just looked so handsome I didn’t have a choice. I trudged through the snow…and gave him a huge kiss. Mamaw and Miss Becky just shake their heads and make the comment that nobody would believe “our love affair.” I’m satisfied now…
The cold, flu, virus whatever it is just won’t let go of my Mamaw and Poppy. And I gotta tell ya, they are a little “snippy” when they don’t feel well—EVEN TO ME! As if I’ve done anything to deserve that kind of treatment.
No cookin again…wonder how they are ever gonna get their strength back like this? Wish she’d let me in the kitchen so I could cook up something for them. I worry, don’t ya know? What would happen to me if they weren’t here for me? I’m gonna give some thought to that one…but in the meantime, I’m gonna enjoy the waterbed get-togethers and the belly rubs and the under-the-chin rubs and live each day to its fullest.
Sometime in the night I found myself in my kennel…now how DOES SHE DO THAT?
