It’s not as warm today but it is still a very nice day. We took a long walk after Mamaw got back from wherever she went all dressed up. We’re not overly energetic today; I think we over did our walks yesterday. Gosh, we all slept in until around 8:15!

Poppy’s brother, Ron, is coming today from Florida. I know they have plans to go out to eat this evening at the Club Car in West Des Moines. That means, of course, that I will have to go back into my kennel.

But I got a pleasant surprise when they came home—they brought Ron and Deb, his daughter back with them. It was so nice to see people up close and personal! The walks are great but I don’t get the chance to interact as I would like to with people. I want to smell them up good and decide what kind of human they are. Well, let me tell you, I fell in love with Ron! And he stayed all night with us too. I kinda couldn’t settle down as much as Mamaw wanted me to so a half-hour or so into the visit, she picked up my kennel and took it to the bedroom. Now come on, get real—why would I want to go to bed when Ron was still up—and Poppy too. I took off running like hell and to my surprise, I was able to jump up on the couch FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! Wow, was I excited—but stunned too. We got to share about that a little bit and then Mamaw said we needed to go to bed so Ron and Poppy could spend some time together.
