We got our first walk in this morning around 8:30. She is still trying to slow me down some. I do get ahead of her from time to time. I’m always looking down to see if there is anything I can scoop up in my mouth so I’m not watching her. I understand from Mother knows best that I am supposed to give her all of my attention—but I don’t. That’s because Mamaw had to get cleaned up and go to the store. Poppy is working in the office doing required letters for patients over the weekend.

She got back from the store and started picking up the house so I know we are going to have company. She takes me outside and when we come back in, she leaves the leash on me. I know now that something is going to happen. Yep, Deb and Ron came in the garage door bringing sandwiches for lunch. Mamaw made me go to my kennel so I wouldn’t be in the way. They had lots to talk about because I understand that Poppy’s mom, Alma, isn’t well and there was talk of a nursing home and what had to be done. She let me out of the kennel for a while until I began to get pesky again—I never met a shoelace I didn’t love. Well, the shoelaces got me in trouble so I was back in the kennel.

After they left, we all laid down for a nap. When we woke up, it was raining. So the day has turned dreary and we don’t enjoy going outside as much. It is quite cool also. I guess we’ll just hang out and go to bed after while…

Well that thought lasted just that long—the thought that is! I got pretty naughty early on in the evening and was promptly sent to bed for the night. I let out a little back talk, but it didn’t do me any good.
