June 30, 2010 (I'm 11 months old!)

Today I am 11 months old—and paranoid! I am so ashamed…

Poppy is on the road to Fonda, IA to see Mom. Then he’s gonna play golf with an old friend, Mark and then head to Fort Dodge, IA to get Miss Cathy. She’s comin to stay a few days with us.

Deb Boswell came at 9:00 a.m. and we got right to work on things. She was pleased that I already had my Bark Busters collar on. We worked inside a little about the noises—turned the ghetto blaster up on high; that didn’t bother me. Ran the vacuum; that didn’t bother me. Turned the TV up loud; that didn’t bother me. Okay, it must be the outside noises then. They talked about doing just what Mamaw has been doing. Taking me out on the deck and just staying there a while so I have to hear those noises. Mamaw thinks it is beginning to work!

Then she got her dog out of the back of her vehicle and we began walking. Deb was really impressed with the time we’ve spent working on making the walk pleasurable. She said if she saw us walking down the street she would think “good job.” Okay—things are going well—she’s pleased, Mamaw’s pleased, and I’m pleased.

And then it’s time to go see Miss Betty. She is being transferred today to Fountain West Skilled Nursing for more therapy until she is ready to go home. Mamaw told me it was just quite a day too…it takes a LONG TIME to get these things done. Lori and Mamaw managed though; she says they work well together. So Betty is in her new home but very anxious to get to her own home…wherever that is. Mamaw took the time to take photos of the joint which she is going to post on the Family Site so all of the family can see where she is.

Mamaw talked to them about me coming to visit too. Mamaw has to fill out a special form and was advised that the FAT dog they have there has been “the queen” for 18 years so we would have to be careful. Mamaw can do that—she’s gonna make it work.

Back home—all of us. Miss Cathy is so pretty—I just love her. And they haven’t eaten dinner yet so I have to go to my kennel while they go out to eat. Miss Cathy likes to eat at The Roadhouse so they won’t be gone too long. See ya when ya get back home…

And back home Miss Cathy wanted to walk about and look the neighborhood over. They took me around the circle and then brought me back to stay with Poppy while they went for A LONG WALK. They went on the trail and Miss Cathy said she wished they had something like that at home—she’d love to run on it!

Well humans—we’re all tired. It’s been a long day. So let’s just say goodnight now and start a new day tomorrow.
