I’ve already been warned it’s goin to be a busy day today. Miss Betty gets out of EXILE at noon! She’s leavin the rehab center and goin to stay with Alan Dale and Vicki. So Betty wants her hair curled and she asked Mamaw to do it for her. So by 8:30 a.m. Mamaw was at the grocery store so we could get around in time. Just all kinds of little stuff has to be done. It amazes me how much time it takes to do these things.
But at any rate, she managed to get Poppy’s lunch packed so he could go to work. And she asked him really nice if he could the jewelry orders to the office with him. And she told him she’d take the deposit to the bank for him. Sounds like a good compromise, doesn’t it? Then she looks at her email and the one jewelry order that was a mystery cleared itself up so Donna Sullins is gonna run it by and put it between the doors.
“Okay Miss Scarlett, it’s time for you to go to your kennel,” she said. And she promised when she got back she’d take me for a nice ride in her car. Well I thought she did pretty darned good with her time and came back to get me. She loads the yard stuff in the trunk and off we go. She opens that big top and rolls our windows down a little and the wind just flew my ears around. I just loved it I tell you, I just loved it. After we got rid of the yard stuff she drove the car to the town square in Polk City and we got out at the park. We walked the block and I got such great new smells it was hard for me to pay attention to our walk. I think Mamaw got a little disgusted with me too.
Back home and Mamaw is on the computer lookin for jobs. Always lookin for jobs! I’m pooped so I’m not about to bother her. I guess she knew that’s how it would be…
And then it cooled down a little and we went for a long walk along the trail. It was quite lovely really. Mamaw kept telling me not to be in a big rush but to just enjoy the walk. And then we’re home—feels good to get in the air conditioned house too.
And the kitchen is smellin wonderful again tonight. Mamaw is makin lettuce, bacon and tomato sandwiches. I’d just love to have a taste of that but you can just forget that. I did get a bite or two of Doritos she dropped by mistake though. And after dinner we’ll do our usual go to the bedroom and watch a little TV. I always look forward to that time of the day. I lay down as close as I can get to Mamaw and love but sometimes I come and go between she and Poppy. (smile)
