I heard Mamaw up in the night—with you know what! Now I’m thinking this is getting serious. What to do, what to do?
I do know one thing—I heard her on the phone yesterday to Luann—she’s takin me in today to get my ears trimmed. They are so long that when I walk—I step on em. And outside first thing in the mornin? They drag in the wet grass. And besides, Mamaw says my body is long and sleek so we need to trim the ears up to balance me out. When did she get to be an expert in grooming? Anyway, we ran down to PetSmart and Luann trimmed my ears--are ya happy now Mamaw? When we left she thought I might need to go potty so she took me where the dog area is--I sniffed three piles and said, "No way." I tugged Mamaw to the middle of the street and there I did my thing. She said she was so embarrassed! She stuck me in the car and went inside to get a clean-up bag and here she came to pick up after me. Yep, she really DOES pick up!
She’s out and about tryin to catch up on errands she hasn’t been able to do. Her cell phone has to be replaced cause a hinge is loose and she keeps dropping calls. She FINALLY got the calculator ribbon she needed. I had to stay home with Poppy. I think she kind of needs some time to herself. Her brother in law, Darold called and gave her some kinda information about her sister, Pat in Texas and I think she’s sad.
When she got back we went outside and Mamaw picked up the apples. She thinks she made a funny when she said, “Now here is a tree that was sprayed so it would not produce fruit. I guess she’s got a point there. She picked up and pickup up last year and was looking forward to no more of that and here they come, bigger and better than ever. She’s disgusted bout that! She asked Poppy to take a photo and call Alex about the limbs hangin on the roof.
We went for a ride in Poppy’s car. I just cut right to the chase and laid down right away and decided I wouldn’t get all nervous and nosy—I’d just enjoy the ride. We did enjoy it too… And then we really went for a nice walk together—on the trail. It was hot so Mamaw soaked my scarf in cold water and I gotta tell ya, I’m gettin really good about wanting to wear it too. Glad we got back because it really started to thunder and RAIN HARD. I stayed as close to Mamaw as possible I can tell ya.
And our usual “waterbed antics” later. While playing I made this sound like a pig snorting and Mamaw just laughed and laughed! Then she told me her friends and family was getting after her for that and now I come along and do the same thing. Doesn’t matter—we’ll just keep right on doin it too.
